The Institute of Directors has appointed Paul Stanley, CEO of Harrogate based energy business CNG, as a new Ambassador to its North Yorkshire committee.

Paul is a Fellow of the IoD and has been leading public and private technology and services businesses globally for over 25 years.

As an Ambassador, Paul will support IoD members to connect with one another, develop professionally and influence policy and decision-makers at the highest levels.

Paul said: “The IoD was important to my early career development as I navigated the challenges of being a young entrepreneur and company director. The Institute helped me to build a valuable support network of friends and advisors.

“As we build back better, greener and fairer, I am excited about the business prospects for our region and the entrepreneurial talent coming from all parts of our diverse Yorkshire community. I am keen to help business leaders in our region to achieve their ambitions and repay the generosity shown to me by other IoD members over so many years.”

Caroline Pullich, acting IoD branch chair for North Yorkshire, said: “I am delighted that Paul has joined our team. His wealth of experience will support our members as we look to recover from this difficult year and help local directors to build a brighter future.”

The IoD is the UK’s number one organisation for directors, providing support, events, professional development and a lobbying voice for all types of business. The Institute helped to secure vital support for directors during the Covid-19 pandemic, including financial assistance for wage bills and changes to insolvency rules.
