Artisan drinks producer Raisthorpe Distillery has launched three new ‘Secret Garden’ gins, featuring fruits and flavours perfect for this time of year.
Award-winning Raisthorpe has handcrafted the small batch gins using traditional methods at its distillery in Thixendale on the Yorkshire Wolds.
Production of the Secret Garden branded gins started as the new adaptation of The Secret Garden - partly filmed in Yorkshire - hit cinema screens. Locations included Helmsley Walled Garden, Duncombe Park and Fountains Abbey.
The film, adapted from the children’s book by Frances Hodgson Burnett, tells the story of Mary Lennox who goes to live with her uncle in the North York Moors where she uncovers the secret garden at Misselthwaite Manor.
Blended with botanicals, the three gins - Angelic Apricot and Coconut, Blissful Bramble and Saffron and Perfect Pear and Peppercorn - are all made with Raisthorpe’s finest 40% proof gin and are perfect when paired with Raisthorpe’s range of Yorkshire Tonics.
Each bottle is beautifully designed with images of hummingbirds, flowers or bees and can be lit up from their base to highlight the bottle’s decoration – and give a little extra sparkle this Christmas.
Raisthorpe founder Julia Medforth said: “We’re inviting customers to unlock the mysteries of our very own Secret Garden and try some different flavour combinations in each of the gins. All three blend fruits and spices including saffron and cardamom to deliver a warming gin for this time of year.”
The gins are the latest addition to Raisthorpe’s range of award-winning gin, vodka and whisky and follow the company’s success at this year’s Great Taste Awards.
It won two Gold Stars for its Damson Gin and a 1-star for its Damson and Sloe Ports and Apple and Elderflower flavour Yorkshire Tonic.
Raisthorpe’s Pink Grapefruit Yorkshire Tonic won the fruit juices and mixers category at this year’s Great British Food Awards.
