It is with sadness that we have to share this news with you.

Our dear friend and colleague Mandy Taylor sadly passed away late last night following her courageous battle with cancer.

Mandy has battled with the disease for many years, diagnosed firstly with breast cancer which she bravely battled twice. She enjoyed a few years of good health, joining TopicUK and Yorkshire Businesswoman magazines three years ago. She loved her time with us, she loved working with our amazing partners, and she said she would stay with us forever. She kept her promise. She will be with us forever in our eyes.

In April 2021 she was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive stage four tumour called a Sinonasal Undifferentiated Carcinoma. Despite undergoing gruelling chemotherapy and radiotherapy to her head and neck, her condition was sadly classed as terminal.

Just a few short weeks ago we were devastated to learn that the cancer had spread to her liver.

Before she passed, Mandy launched a campaign #bemoremandy where she wanted to encourage people to stop saying ‘I will get around to it’ and actually ‘just do it’ She said face your fears as I have many times by signing up to a charity challenge or share your skills with a good cause, spread joy and carry out random acts of kindness

Mandy wanted people to share their videos and updates on social media pledging to do something and nominate others to do the same.

Mandy was one of the strongest most beautiful women we have met, inside and out, her charity work was legendary. I do hope everyone will get behind her campaign which will raise money for underprivileged children in the Kirklees and Calderdale areas, leaving behind a fantastic legacy. We will certainly continue to promote this for her.

We have our Yorkshire Businesswoman event tomorrow that I know many of you are attending. Mandy always looked forward to hosting. She loved meeting all the business lady members and although she knew she couldn’t be with us for this one, made us promise it will go ahead. We will be raising a glass to this funny, talented and incredibly brave lady.
