Black Sheep Brewery is proud to announce that ‘Burrow’s Blonde’, launched for rugby legend Rob Burrow MBE, is the brewery’s fastest ever selling bottle.
Brewed in partnership with the Good Racing Co, ten pence from every pint and bottle sold is donated to the Rob Burrow 7 Discretionary Trust and the Rob Burrow Racing Club, and £3,800 has been raised to support Rob and his family.
Already, 139 pubs and sports clubs across the country have sold Burrow’s Blonde to customers, including Rugby League team, the Wigan Warriors.
Burrow’s Blonde is a 3.7% abv light and zesty session beer available in cask and 500ml bottle, now available on the brewery’s online shop and at pubs, rugby clubs and race venues across the UK. The beer will also be available in 440ml cans in the near future.
This Blonde Ale blends the finest British malts with a trio of hops, creating aromas of grapefruit, lemon and orange to accompany soft, sweet maltiness.

“With the Rugby Union World Cup underway, as well as the Challenge Cup Final coming up in October, Burrow’s Blonde will be immensely sought-after amongst sports fans, and will no doubt be a popular choice in any pubs and clubs that decide to stock up. We’d highly recommend matching a pint of Burrow’s Blonde with a bowl of chips, ready to watch the games kick off.”
The launch event for ‘Burrow’s Blonde’ saw Rob, along with family, friends, teammates and Rob’s former racehorse ‘Burrow Seven’ head to the Black Sheep Brewery in Masham, North Yorkshire, where the beer was created.
Rob’s wife, Lindsey said: “We were really excited to work with Black Sheep Brewery and launch Burrow’s Blonde. It’s a great opportunity for people to support Rob by simply buying a beer and enjoying a drink with loved ones.”
Burrow’s Blonde can be purchased in pubs across the country, and will also receive Burrow’s Blonde branded posters and beer mats alongside the beer.
