The Broadway crowns its first ‘local hero’
Sixty-four year old, ex-sergeant major Michael Chin-Chan of Girlington has been
crowned as The Broadway’s first local hero. The Centre announced last month it
was launching a campaign to celebrate the region’s unsung heroes with a winner
each month scooping a £250 shopping voucher.

The Huddersfield Town Foundation is delighted to be able to offer four people
the chance to take part in the world’s first 100,000-person marathon!

Children’s Heart Surgery Fund (CHSF) as its charity partner of the year for
2021, pledging to raise £9,000 to refurbish two overnight rooms as part of its
upcoming undertaking: The Parent Rooms Project.

Hospice given £1,000 by Yorkshire West Riding Freemasons
Barnsley Hospice has received a grant of £1,000 from the Freemasons. The grant
comes from the Province of Yorkshire, West Riding Freemasons via the society’s
nationwide Masonic Charitable Foundation (MCF) and will be used to support
hospice running costs.

The Huddersfield Town Foundation has received just over £8,000 in funding from
the One Community Foundation, in partnership with the Department for Digital,
Culture, Media and Sport!
Coming from their Coronavirus Response fund, the money will be used to support
the running of the Town Foundation’s Breakfast Club

The Broadway, Bradford has launched an initiative to recognise local heroes from
across the region. Running from February through to the spring, each month one
nominated hero will scoop a £250 shopping voucher to spend in any of the
centre’s 80 retailers.
