Leeds based property company, Pullans, has completed the letting of 21,804 sq ft of Grade A office space at its newly refurbished 2 Park Lane building. The new occupant of the building is Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust which has taken a seven-year lease to conclude one of the largest office lettings to be completed in the city this year.
Having undergone a comprehensive refurbishment and fit out, the building located on Park Lane and adjacent to the Inner Ring Road, provides 50,000 sq ft of contemporary Grade A accommodation featuring an impressive new reception area, communal meeting facilities and a striking new double height glazed entrance. Further amenities include on-site car parking, dedicated bike storage, modern shower and changing facilities and new energy efficient heat pump air conditioning and ventilation system throughout.
Andrew Gillam, Head of Property at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, said the move was supporting the development of two new state-of-the-art hospitals on the Leeds General Infirmary site.
“Being able to relocate some 250 colleagues into these new offices is helping us to progress our Building the Leeds Way programme to build a new adults hospital and a new home for Leeds Children’s Hospital,” he said.
“We are pleased to have found such suitable premises close to the hospital and the city centre offering accommodation with on-site parking. It will allow those teams affected by the development work to be co-located rather than being dispersed across the Trust.”
Bruce Strachan, Property Director at Pullans added: "We are delighted to have agreed this letting and to be continuing our long-standing relationship with the NHS here in Leeds. It is rewarding to know we are helping facilitate Building The Leeds Way Programme to deliver new adult and children’s hospitals here in Leeds and aiming to transform healthcare for patients in Leeds and the wider region. It is also testament to the significant investment made in the refurbishment and to introducing facilities designed to support the wellbeing of our customers and their employees."
Carter Towler director Richard Fraser concludes: “It is quite remarkable that during such difficult circumstances an office letting of this size and calibre has successfully completed so promptly. It’s a measure of both parties’ commitment and willingness to work collaboratively to get the deal over the line in order to allow the NHS staff to move into their new offices and to be at their desks in October."
The NHS joins existing occupier international digital marketing agency, ICS-Digital, who occupy 10,518 sq ft on the fourth floor of the building. 16,236 sq ft remains available on the third and fifth floors.
Carter Towler, Knight Frank and WSB are the joint letting agents for 2 Park Lane.
