After an incredible opening summer which saw Green Room fast become the place to be in central Leeds, the award-winning independent bar and social space is poised to unveil its brand-new Winter Garden.

Opening on Friday 21st October, the launch coincides with the release of an expanded menu created to get everyone in the festive mood. Designed to fill the gap left by the absence of the Leeds German market, the roof terrace has been transformed into a cosy winter haven which is fully covered, complete with fire pits, heat lamps covering the roof top and locally sourced Yorkshire wool blankets.

Guests will also be able to enjoy a limited-edition German-style pilsner, brewed exclusively by Kirkstall Brewery and served in traditional steins. The pilsner perfectly complements the new winter menu, which includes a handful of Christmas market classics.

The afternoon/evening selection (served 3-8pm) includes a Bratwurst Vegan-Dog featuring a succulent Moving Mountains sausage and is topped with sauerkraut, mustard, ketchup, crispy onions, and pickles, whilst the Currywurst Vegan-Dog is served with fries, pickled cabbage, coriander, onions, and chilli.

The BBQ Vegan Quarter Pounder includes a juicy Moving Mountains patty and comes topped with gooey vegan mozzarella.

Green Room has also introduced a tempting selection of meat-based dishes, including a Bratwurst, Currywurst, Buffalo Chicken Burger and Loaded Cheese and Bacon Fries. The daytime menu (served 10 am – 3 pm) has also been updated with meat-based versions of some of Green Room’s bestselling dishes. Highlights here range from the Mexican Steak Bowl with a juicy flat iron steak to a flavoursome Chicken and Avocado Caesar Salad.

Those with a sweet tooth will want to seek out the pancakes, with Biscoff or Black Forest variants to choose from.

Green Room has gained a reputation for its state-of-the-art sound system and will continue to host a roster of local DJs, as well as plenty of live entertainment throughout the season.

Located on Wellington Street just next to the historic Majestic building (now home to Channel 4), Green Room boasts one of the city’s most innovative design concepts and has won praise for its strong focus on sustainability and support of local independents. The venue is also home to two luxury apartments, which are ideal for midweek stays and weekend breaks.

Speaking of the Winter Garden launch, director Will Habergham said: "We couldn’t have really asked for a better summer 2022 - not only did we get to enjoy our fair share of sunshine, but the people of Leeds really took to our concept, and we’ve had an exceptionally busy few month."

"I’m confident our regulars will love what we’ve done with the Winter Garden, especially those that have been pining for the return of the beloved Christmas markets. Our terrace has been transformed into a cosy space that’s perfect for enjoying a few steins, a Bratwurst and some great entertainment with friends and colleagues."

"We’ll also continue to serve up favourites from our Gron menu and have even added some incredible meat-based dishes to ensure nobody is left out. Summer will be a tough act to follow, but I’ve got a feeling that we’re going to have a winter to remember."
