Workspace provider Gilbanks has secured a multi-million-pound funding facility from Frontier Development Capital (FDC), part of Mercia Asset Management plc, to support its ambitious growth plans across major UK cities.

The latest investment will enable Leeds-headquarted Gilbanks to accelerate the expansion of its network of high-end, service-led office spaces and meet increasing demand for premium, flexible work environments.

Ondrej Okeke, investment director at Frontier Development Capital, commented on the investment: "The flexible workspace sector is a familiar and exciting market for us. Gilbanks' strong management team, solid track record, robust income model, and impressive pipeline made this a particularly attractive opportunity. We look forward to supporting Gilbanks expansion as they target new locations in strategic urban centres and grow a national footprint.”

With a presence in Manchester, Leeds, and Birmingham, Gilbanks has developed a reputation for providing high-quality workspace solutions that prioritise sustainability, prime locations, and an unmatched service offering.

Alex Duckett, managing director of Gilbanks, added: "Businesses and landlords recognise that the office landscape has shifted towards a more service-led, experience-driven model. At Gilbanks, our priority has always been to enhance the customer experience by selecting the best locations with outstanding sustainability credentials and top-tier amenities. The new funding allows us to expand across the UK as we find suitable sites with forward-thinking landlords."

This funding milestone follows Gilbanks’ recent expansion into Birmingham, where it is set to open a 22,000 sq. ft workspace at Five St Philips, further strengthening its position as a leading operator in the UK’s premium flexible workspace sector.

FDC, based in Birmingham, is a specialist investor that supports high-growth businesses with tailored funding solutions, making it an ideal partner for Gilbanks’ next growth stage.

The company recently launched 34,000 sq ft of new office space in Manchester’s £400m high-profile No.1 St Michael’s development. It also manages successful operations in Leeds and 11 York Street in Manchester.
