Heald Ltd, the Yorkshire based manufacturer of hostile vehicle mitigation systems which protect some of the world’s most high profile buildings from vehicle attacks, has been shortlisted for the Export Award at this year's Insider Made in Yorkshire Awards.

From their HQ in Hornsea, East Yorkshire, Heald operates on a global scale with over 70% of its products being exported overseas. Countries Heald has products installed in include the UK, USA, Norway, the Netherlands, Singapore, Australia, Jordan. High profile installs include Beale Street - (Memphis) USA, Surfers Paradise - (Queensland) Australia, Avinor Airport - (Oslo) Norway, Leicester Square - London and the Keppel Marina East Desalination Plant - Singapore.

Their products are also used to secure temporary events such as the London Olympics and the World Snooker Championship, along with Christmas Markets and other festivals.

After a successful 12 months and the commencement of three further distributor agreements in Germany, Southeast Asia and Sweden, Heald are among five companies shortlisted for the Export Award.

The Export Award is for the manufacturing company based in the region deemed by the judges to be the most outstanding exporter in terms of international presence, export growth, and exports as a proportion of sales within the qualifying period.

The prestigious manufacturing dinner celebrates world-class companies based in Yorkshire and the Humber and the products they are making here and selling across the world. This year's awards will also recognise the work manufacturers across the region have done to meet national needs since the outbreak of Covid-19.

The awards ceremony is set to take place on 29th July at the Hilton Hotel, Leeds.

Managing Director Debbie Heald MBE commented: “I’m delighted that Heald has been recognised in the Export Award category. Although the past 12 months have been unprecedented, we’ve continued to see great success with growing the business and establishing new distributor agreements around the world.”

“I’m very much looking forward to celebrating at the awards ceremony with the best businesses in Yorkshire!”
