The largest independent provider of veterinary public health professionals in Europe, Eville & Jones, is pleased to announce it has retained the prestigious Investors in People Gold Award.

The Leeds-based firm was first awarded the ‘We Invest in People’ accolade in April 2018 and is delighted to have retained it for the 4th year in succession.

The internationally recognised Investors in People scheme signposts businesses that are delivering continuous improvements, rewarding and acknowledging high performance, leading and inspiring people and creating sustainable success – only 17% of those accredited receive Gold.

Assessors credited Eville & Jones for its organisational change programme success and how it has made the company a better place to work led by professional leadership experts. Feedback also noted positive work culture and communication, as well as how CEO Charles Hartwell is known for his passion, enthusiasm and championing the worth and value of his team.

In the past two years, the business has increased its workforce by a fifth despite an industrywide recruitment crisis, and has sights set on becoming the world’s leading provider of official veterinary controls. Significant changes have been made to support the growing team with a larger focus on health, safety and wellbeing, implemented by a new leadership structure and an increasing emphasis on employee engagement.

Sophie Willis, director of people commented: “We are delighted to have retained our Investors in People Gold Award and are proud of the recognition of our commitment to team wellbeing and engagement which is our utmost priority. Our people are our greatest asset, and as we grow, we have plans in place to continue creating a culture that champions happiness, diversity and communication.”
