Exemplar Health Care, a leading provider of specialist nursing care for adults living with complex needs, has officially opened its £2.9 million state-of-the-art complex needs care home in Hull.

Marmaduke, a complete refurbishment, and Exemplar Health Care’s second home in East Yorkshire, will support 18 adults living with dementia, acquired brain injury, complex mental health conditions and physical disabilities.

Each bedroom comes equipped with an en-suite wet room, and, in addition, the home will be surrounded by an easy-access sensory garden and include a communal hub, living and dining spaces for residents and their friends and family to enjoy.

Speaking about the opening, Katie Capes (pictured), the commissioning home director aid: “I’m thrilled to have opened this second home in Hull. The community-based home will provide person-centered care and rehabilitation that focuses on maximising independence, building everyday living skills, and empowering people to live as fulfilled lives as possible.

“It is extremely rewarding to be able to support 18 local people with complex health needs, and to provide over 80 stable and local jobs for those wanting to progress their careers.”
