The 14th annual National Apprenticeship Week 2021 will take place from the 8th to 14th February and aims to shine a light on the amazing work being done by employers and apprentices across the country.
The week-long celebration of apprenticeships will showcase the impact apprenticeships have on young people, local businesses and regional economies and how they all benefit from the impact of apprenticeships.
The theme for National Apprenticeship Week 2021 is “Build the Future” as organisers encourage everyone to consider how apprenticeships can help individuals to develop the skills and knowledge required for a rewarding career. The campaign will also highlight how employers can use apprenticeships to build a workforce with future-ready skills.
Apprenticeships and Skills Minister Gillian Keegan said “It has been fantastic to see how employers of all sizes have gone above and beyond to ensure apprentices can continue their studies during this unprecedented time. The week is also an opportunity to shine a light on how apprentices of all ages and backgrounds are helping to transform businesses across the country.”
“As a former apprentice I know what a life-changing experience it can be, and I’m looking forward to being part of National Apprenticeship Week 2021 and seeing first-hand the inspiring ways apprentices and their employers continue to deliver.”
With 2020 forcing us to rely on technology and virtual meetings more than ever, Wakefield College has a very different, but just as exciting, National Apprenticeship Week planned.
For employers, the College will be holding a Virtual Employer Event on Tuesday 9th February at 2pm which will help to prepare businesses for the future. Employers can sign up here: www.wakefield.ac.uk/events.
On Saturday 13th February, the College will be inviting parents & carers to join a Parent & Carer Q&A on the Apprenticeships at Wakefield College Facebook page and on the apprenticeships phone line on 01924 789469. The event will run between 10am and 4pm with staff from the College on hand to answer any apprenticeship related questions.
Wakefield College will also be celebrating their past, present and future apprentices and employers during the week across their social media channels and giving prospective employers, apprentices, parents, and carers an insight into the world of apprenticeships.
