The team at North Yorkshire family business, Yorkshire Rapeseed Oil is celebrating after being placed joint first in the Guild of Fine Food's Best Brands Survey 2024-2025.
Published by Fine Food Digest, the Best Brands Survey showcases the best-selling and best-tasting products that are available from delis, farm shops and food halls throughout the UK and are voted for by the publication's readers.
Yorkshire Rapeseed Oil's flagship Natural Cold Pressed Extra Virgin Rapeseed Oil was awarded joint first place with Honest Toil Extra Virgin Olive Oil in the Oils and Vinegars Category of the Best Brands Survey 2024 - 25.
The judges concluded: "The price of olive oil has risen dramatically this decade - more than any other ingredient sold in the UK, according to the ONS. Whether that is why Honest Toil is sharing the Best Brands throne with Yorkshire Rapeseed Oil this year, or whether it's the result of people buying more food locally, isn't clear.
"It does say something about how popular the cold-pressed oil from Yorkshire has become that it made it straight to the top of the pops this year, though."
Adam Palmer, co-founder, said: "We're incredibly proud to have shared the win in this prestigious survey with an olive oil brand and we'd like to thank all of our loyal customers who have helped us to achieve this accolade. It's great to see a product listed that champions both British farming and produce."
Yorkshire Rapeseed Oil was established in 2008 by the Palmer family on their family farm in the heart of the Yorkshire Wolds. They produce a range of oils, dressings and mayonnaise based on their Great Taste Two Gold Star award winning rapeseed oil that is produced exclusively from home and Yorkshire Wolds grown rape and blended, bottled and labelled on the family farm.
