The Champions Kitchen is on a mission - a mission to provide schools across the country with a range of nutritional and healthy foods, ensuring young people in education have delicious and wholesome choices at school.
The Champions Kitchen offers a range of healthy snacks and drinks, to help young people eat better and help engender awareness of what is good for them. Charlie Simpson-Daniel, health food entrepreneur and a former international rugby player, founded this business with his brothers, all three of whom played international rugby and professional rugby too.
Headed up by Charlie, The Champions Kitchen team works with top health food and low sugar drink providers across the United Kingdom and, as successful entrepreneurs in their own right, uses their combined experience and contacts in the retail industry to bring the best healthy and good value options to the school canteen. To beat tight budgets that catering managers often have to work with, the products are offered on a sale or return basis and to date more than 100 schools in the UK have signed up.
Charlie says: “My brothers and I benefited from a good food and fitness regime to keep us at the top of our game growing up, and we’re keen that young people, no matter what their background or where they live, can access and enjoy healthy and appealing choices throughout their time in education. We collaborate with international nutritionists to help us build our schools’ snacking and drinks’ range and we keep sustainability at our heart wherever possible. The key takeaway from the last 12 months has been the incredible passion of catering managers across the UK who are desperate to offer their pupils healthier drinks and snacks.”
“In spite of COVID we are anticipating our company to go from strength to strength with our sales team growing and our ambition is to expand servicing over 300 schools by the end of 2021. The key message I think I’d like to share with schools is that we aren’t here to replace your existing products because we know budgets are tight. We simply ask you give us the opportunity on sale or return to give your pupils access to some of the best and most nutritious products the UK has to offer!”
Charlie, with his brother James Simpson-Daniel, also founded the Wizards Magic Chocolate. A delicious and innovative chocolate which has very low sugar, is high in fibre, and is vegan friendly and gluten free. Charlie’s other successes also include other snack products sold in supermarkets nationwide like Biltong and Jerky where he founded the market leading brand which he sold to venture capitalists. He does however have many more new and healthy products already in the pipeline. For The Champions Kitchen, Charlie has brought together a comprehensive range of healthy foods appropriate for young people throughout their school life, with quality and integrity at its core. It’s an innovative concept, and with plans to supply more schools by the end of 2021, it’s proving popular throughout the country.
