Silicon Yorkshire, fuelled by iSource Group, has re-launched following lockdown, bringing together the Yorkshire technology community to ignite conversation, boost networks, connect businesses and unlock value.
Hosted by the organisation responsible for the Yorkshire Mafia, the first event within the Silicon Yorkshire series will take place on 8 September at East 59th in Leeds. Welcoming members of the business community back together, attendees will enjoy canapes and drinks while discussing the technology topics that matter to them most.
Welcoming IT leaders, founders, start-ups, scale-ups, creative digital entrepreneurs, technology architects, engineers and everyone in between, the group will become a social space for conversation, which will be amplified by an annual events programme.
Sponsored by Leeds based Hippo Digital, a high-growth full service digital consultancy; Flutter Entertainment Plc, the global sports, betting, gaming and entertainment provider; and Modo25, the global, supported in-housing and marketing technology provider, the group is already building momentum.
Geoff Shepherd (pictured), who has founded the group, comments: “It’s fair to say that the tech community have been busy during lockdown! We want to use this moment to encourage people to look up from their desks, come together and share thoughts, expertise and ideas.
“Silicon Yorkshire is about the business community; it is driven by the members. We are here to facilitate the introductions and that’s what’s so exciting. We know that there are some incredible individuals and businesses in Yorkshire, and we want them to use this as a platform to share their success”.
Chief operations officer for Hippo Digital, Lara Longhurst, comments: “As a home-grown Yorkshire business, we’re excited to be part of the new Silicon Yorkshire technology community, creating a support network of businesses and people within the region to bring the best of what Yorkshire has to offer to the wider community”.
