With the cancellation of York’s St Nicholas’ Fair this year, award-winning drinks distiller Raisthorpe is partnering with another family-owned firm to bring its Christmas gins to the city centre.
Independent department store group Browns is hosting Raisthorpe among its array of big name brands during the festive shopping period.
Raisthorpe has a booth in the Browns store selling its artisan gins and vodkas including its new 40% Secret Garden gins in Angelic Apricot and Coconut, Blissful Bramble and Saffron and Perfect Pear and Peppercorn flavours. Raisthorpe’s seasonal Stacker gift set range and latest Great Taste Award winners –Damson Gin, Damson and Sloe Ports – are all available. The booth is also stocking complementary Yorkshire Tonics.
Raisthorpe’s sales and operations director, Oliver Medforth, said “We’re thrilled to bring our award-winning gins and vodkas to shoppers at Browns. We have some exciting new products to show off including our Secret Garden Gins with inbuilt LED so customers can switch on their own Christmas lights!
“We are looking forward to chatting with customers face to face again and really getting into the Christmas spirit.”

Raisthorpe, based on the Yorkshire Wolds, has seen online sales increase substantially during the coronavirus pandemic. Raisthorpe artisan spirits and tonics are also widely stocked in farm shops, delis and independent retailers, as well as being available online and from its shop at the York Designer Outlet shopping centre.
Raisthorpe is a family business launched more than 10 years ago by Julia Medforth at the family farm in Thixendale. The company also produces a range of award-winning gin liqueurs, vodkas and dry gin.
