Leeds data analytics and business intelligence (BI) software developer Panintelligence has teamed up with booq, a Netherlands-based tech business that provides a range of software solutions integrated into one platform, for the hospitality, leisure, catering and sports industries.
Software as a service (SaaS) vendor booq will embed the Panintelligence ‘Pi’ dashboard into its system, enabling its customers to use their own data to improve processes and manage costs.
The Dutch firm’s software system switches transactions from a cash register to any hand-held device, as well as digitalising processes such as workforce scheduling, kitchen management systems or table reservations, aspects that have driven demand since the pandemic impacted the hospitality sector.
“Our systems generate large amounts of data and we needed to turn that into valuable information for our customers,” said booq CTO Hans Gringhuis. “We win business on being user-friendly, supporting more platforms and being better integrated than our competitors, but we knew our data analytics could be improved.
“We wanted to bolster our BI and analytics capabilities to meet the increasing demand from customers and so decided to work with an analytics software specialist rather than enhance what we had written ourselves.
“A provider who could structure their product flexibly and swiftly around our business model was essential for us. Panintelligence’s three-in-one dashboard, reporting and predictive modelling platform met our requirements and their expertise and support with rapidly integrating the software meant they have become like an extension of our own development team during the lockdown.”
booq is set to launch its BI and analytics tool simultaneously across its customer base, phasing in increased functionality over coming months. “Offering greatly improved analytics capability will help us to grow internationally as well as growing here in the Netherlands,” said Mr Gringhuis.
Ken Miller, CTO, at Panintelligence said: “booq is typical of our SaaS vendor clients who are seeing an explosion in demand for a data analytics and BI tool that can be rapidly embedded into their software. Since the onset of the coronavirus pandemic the global economy is shifting decisively to the cloud and BI technology that makes sense of data and can exploit it has become absolutely essential for success.”
Panintelligence’s Pi software, which has over 200,000 users worldwide across a wide range of industry sectors, from retail and education to local government and healthcare, was originally developed to enable the secure processing of high volumes of transactional data from UK credit providers. The developer’s unique single-solution embedded BI and data analytics tool combines a dashboard and reporting function with predictive modelling, can be rapidly deployed and requires no coding.
