Leeds based Cognito Learning has been named as a regional winner in this year’s prestigious Rising Stars 3.0 competition, which showcases the UK’s best and most innovative technology companies.
Cognito Learning was founded in 2017 and is a unique digital learning app that uses the power of artificial intelligence and engaging gamification to continuously help employees to understand and retain learning and knowledge. The company is the brainchild of Mike Routledge, Jonny Jerome and Evan Ritchie.
Employees using the app typically spend less than two minutes a day answering questions relating to any subject matter including training, products, wellbeing, sales, procedures and compliance to reinforce knowledge retention. Crucially, it also gives employers unprecedented insight into how their teams are retaining new knowledge and highlights areas where people need additional support or training.
Rising Stars 3.0 is the UK’s most exciting competition for innovative, early-stage technology companies. Hosted by Tech Nation, the growth platform for technology companies and leaders, it is the UK’s only national scaleup competition, designed to be accessible to the best early-stage technology companies from all areas of the country.
Five winners have been selected from each of the 11 regions in the competition. Of these, 20 will now be selected to be showcased to a highly respected audience of investors, corporates and influencers, as well as the wider technology community. Ten of these will then be crowned the overall Rising Stars at the end of February 2021.
Mike Routledge, managing director at Cognito Learning, said: “We’re delighted to be one of the winners representing the Yorkshire region at this year’s Rising Stars 3.0, which is a great endorsement for our company, our innovative product and our work to date. It is especially rewarding to be recognised for our use of advanced technology solutions and artificial intelligence which are transforming the employee learning landscape and supporting workplace wellbeing.
“Despite the backdrop of Covid-19, 2020 has been a productive year for the business. We have won high profile contracts with international corporate organisations, financial services companies, charities and public sector organisations, and having our efforts recognised at Rising Stars 3.0 is a great way to mark the end of a successful year.”
Employees using Cognito Learning on their phones, tablets or computers, answer daily questions and the app uses artificial intelligence to deliver a personalised learning pathway for every individual user, based on their previous answers. This highlights knowledge gaps and helps employees understand, reinforce and retain their learning and knowledge. The app also features gamification, including leaderboards, streaks and a number of monthly awards, making it fun and engaging with an element of healthy competition.
