Leeds cast plasterer wins contract to work on new city centre office block

Award-winning cast plasterer Ryedale Interiors Ltd has successfully won a five-figure contract to carry out work at the latest building on the Wellington Place scheme in Leeds.

The Leeds-based specialist contractor has been chosen by lead Dry Lining contractor, Sparta Systems Ltd to design, manufacture and install 60 Glass Reinforced Gypsum (GRG) column casings within the eight-storey office block.

The £40k contract will see Ryedale Interiors Ltd replicate the GRG works they completed at Building 3 in October 2017 and builds on their relationship with the contractor.

The news comes as the firm celebrates its highest growth to date; reporting a 73% increase in annual turnover for 2019/20 to £1.5 million, compared to £865k in financial year 2018/19.

Wellington Place is a new urban quarter which strives to be the business location of choice for Leeds corporate organisations. When fully complete, the 22-acre scheme will comprise over 1.9 million sq. ft of office, residential, retail and leisure space across 8 buildings.

Building 4 is one of the latest buildings within the complex to be developed and will offer 156,000 sq. ft of Grade A office, retail and leisure space.

The GRG circular column casings will be located on all the office floors, cloaking the structural steel columns and give a pleasing contemporary feel to these light and airy open plan offices.
