Commercial Property Partners (CPP) confirms that take-up of warehouse space across South Yorkshire remains high following a spate of deals across a range of sizes in recent weeks.
In 2020 the take-up of industrial units totalling over 100,000 sq. ft in Yorkshire has been 5.5 million sq. ft so far, which is significantly higher than the five-year rolling average annual take up of approximately 3 million sq. ft.
The newly refurbished 25,299 sq. ft unit at Greasboro Road Industrial Estate in Sheffield has been let on a 15 year lease to The Soft Drinks Company Ltd, a family run business delivering confectionery and drinks across the country, due its prominent location adjacent to the J34 of the M1.
The property firm has also announced a 5,235 sq. ft letting at Dore House Industrial Estate to The Garage Car Sales Ltd, and a further letting at Newhall Road to Fleet Services.
In addition, the team has recently facilitated the sale of the final 1,500 sq. ft unit at Avro Park: the new build scheme beside Doncaster Sheffield Airport brought forward by developers Priority Space and HG Sites. Sales at Avro Park have achieved record sales figures for industrial units in South Yorkshire.
Max Pickering, Assistant Surveyor at CPP added: “The current market is robust, and we are seeing increasing interest in all units we have available.
“This is very positive to see, not least in the current times, and we hope that the commitment of these businesses will help to support both employment and the regional economy. To that end we are continuing to work with landlords to market wider opportunities to help ensure necessary availability across the region.”
Ed Norris, Director at CPP commented: “Our recent deals reflect a strong commercial property market across the South Yorkshire region, with a wealth of appetite for units of all sizes.”
