Growing online furniture retailer Furniture And Choice has expanded its storage space after taking a long-term lease on a 100,000sq ft warehouse unit at Sirdar Business Park in Wakefield.

The business, which has benefited from a mass move to online shopping in recent months, has seen a 150% growth this year and expects to generate a turnover of £50m for 2020-21. The expansion will also see Furniture And Choice create 40 new jobs.

Matt Jennings, commercial surveyor at Eddisons, which acted for landlord Sirdar Properties, said: “It’s great news that we have been able to help another growing Yorkshire business find the space they need to prosper and create new jobs.

“We had a number of parties interested in the Sirdar Business Park units and it was satisfying to get this one over the line, having worked with Sirdar Properties for many years. The estate has always generated plenty of interest, offering high quality space just a stone’s throw from the M1, and we now have only one new-to-market 18,000 sq ft unit available.”

Sirdar Properties managing director Russell Morris said: “We’re really pleased to have partnered with the Eddisons letting team once again, securing another great Yorkshire company for Sirdar Business Park and bringing with it the very welcome prospect of new jobs for the area.”
