With latest reports revealing that the property sector is yet to bounce back from the lockdown period, West Yorkshire based estate agents Bramleys has bucked the downward trend as it reports a 50% rise in sales on June last year.

The property specialists, which has branches in Huddersfield, Halifax, Elland, Mirfield and Heckmondwike, saw sales levels in June that totalled just short of £10.5m.

The June sales included a £400,000 home overlooking Savile Park, Halifax and substantial detached home in Farnley Tyas at £795,000.

After seven weeks of viewings and sales being halted due to Coronavirus, the company began viewings when the government lifted its restrictions on the 13th May, and has introduced video viewings across its sales and lettings properties in order to reduce the risk for both staff and customers.

Paul Keighley, Partner said: “The last few months have been a turbulent time for the industry, so we are so pleased that we have started the first six weeks in such a strong position with the June sales figures exceeding all our expectations.

“Buying a home is such a special milestone in your life, so it was really important to us that we hit the ground running when the restrictions were lifted so we could minimise disruption to our customer’s buying journey”.
