The Crown Hotel, located in the village near Wetherby, has launched two new offers in line with its latest menu launch, which will be welcomed by many affected by the increased cost of living.

The new menu of elevated comfort food marks the change in season with dishes that showcase Yorkshire produce at its very best. From the British classic of beer battered haddock & chips and a stacked bacon cheeseburger to sticky glazed pig cheeks with cavolo nero, beer braised onion and pumpkin seed granola, and baked beetroot gnocchi in creamed leeks and spinach, there is something for all culinary tastes.

Diners can enjoy 25% off their meal in the restaurant, from Monday to Thursday between 5pm - 7pm.

On Sundays, a traditional roast is available with locally sourced meats, all the trimmings and sides that include pigs in blankets, creamy leeks and cauliflower cheese. Families visiting with children will receive a roast completely free of charge each week until 20 November, when dining with a paying adult.

The new food offering has been developed by the recently recruited kitchen team, lead by head chef Clint Britz, whose culinary expertise has come from working at 5 star restaurants in South Africa, onboard cruise liners sailing the ocean and back here in the UK as co-founder and executive chef of American-style grill chain, Reds True Barbecue.

He joined the established team at The Crown Hotel in September, bringing with him senior sous chef, Craig Thorpe, and junior sous chef, Lee Barber, both of whom have a wealth of experience themselves, including their stint working together at The Great Victoria Hotel in Bradford as part of the Tomahawk Boutique Hotels group.

Clint said: “I’m really excited to deliver a menu worthy of such a beautiful location, using techniques I’ve learnt over the years that have helped me develop my own style of cooking - from classic french dishes to low-and-slow barbecue.”

Mark Deeming, general manager said: “We’re thrilled to have the new kitchen team on board who have created a delicious and creative menu. And, with the current cost of living crisis it was important to launch it with a discounted offer allowing all customers to come down and enjoy a hearty meal as the winter encroaches.”

The new winter menu is now available, with 25% off pre-booked meals in the restaurant Monday - Thursday until Thursday 17 November, as well as free roasts for children every Sunday until 20 November. To find out more and to make a reservation, visit http://www.thecrownbostonspa.com
