Leeds-based digital agency Engage is one of the latest businesses to become Great Place to Work-CertifiedTM.

The accreditation was secured with Great Place to Work®, the global authority on workplace culture, with its rigorous, data-driven For All™ methodology, after the 52-strong agency launched the staff survey at the beginning of 2023. Following a two week period of coordinating staff feedback, Engage secured a final score of 84%, which is 19% above the required minimum score of 65%.

To successfully achieve the accreditation, businesses must complete confidential employee surveys and submit policies and practises for review. Factors such as leadership effectiveness, employee engagement, career development, and work-life balance are all assessed. Areas of particular achievement for Engage that scored above 90% included how new employees are welcomed, contributions to the community, and the office space that makes a good working environment.

The application process involved completing a culture brief, and providing key management information with a focus on equality, diversity and inclusion. This included the male to female ratio and percentage of minority groups within the business.

Sanjeevni Dip-Matadeen, head of people development & culture, commented: “We were blown away with the positive feedback that we received from our team, and the final score of 84%. Way above a pass! As we’ve moved across our business model to align with our core pillars of people, performance and purpose, we’ve been aiming to achieve accreditations that provide tangible evidence of the work we’re doing. Our Great Place to Work accreditation joins our B CorporationTM certification, both of which prove that we’re on the right track to use business as a force for good.

“Our team is what keeps the business running and we are so pleased that our hard work to provide them with a supportive and nurturing environment has been recognised and Engage is considered as a great place to work”.

Benedict Gautrey, managing director of Great Place to Work® UK said: “We congratulate Engage on achieving its Certification™. Organisations which put the employee experience at the heart of their business gain their employees’ trust and, in turn, are truly able to build a great workplace culture that delivers outstanding business results.”
