Zenith battery electric vehicle numbers nearly double in a year to pass the 10,000 milestone
Zenith has announced a year-on-year increase of almost 100% in its battery electric vehicles (BEVs) with over 10,000 funded vehicles now on the road. The leasing company also has over 9,000 BEVs on order for both corporate drivers and individual retail customers. Some of the most popular cars are Audi, Tesla and Volkswagen.
The Leeds-headquartered company is continuing its commitment to champion alternatively-fuelled vehicles. The milestone comes at a time of uncertainty within the motoring industry with the widely reported supply chain problems combined with the rising cost of living dampening consumer demand.
The amount of people choosing Zenith to transition to BEVs supports the company’s vision to decarbonise the UK’s vehicle parc by eliminating tailpipe emissions and contributes to its green bond commitment to spend more than £475m on battery electric vehicles by early 2024.
Tim Buchan (pictured), chief executive officer at Zenith, said: “Despite a period of uncertainty in the sector, we’ve managed to continue to increase our vehicle orders, and transition drivers to electric vehicles. This is an outstanding achievement given the current supply chain challenges experienced since COVID-19 and is aligned with Zenith’s vision to decarbonise the UK’s vehicle parc by eliminating tailpipe emissions.”
