Eleven of Yorkshire’s leading food and drink entrepreneurs have been recognised for their business acumen, as winners were revealed at the prestigious Garbutt + Elliott Food Entrepreneurs Awards on March 7.
The winning companies beat 76 entrants to be crowned across nine categories at a ceremony in The Hospitium, Museum Gardens, York, attended by more than 100 business leaders in the food and drink sector.
The inaugural awards, which were organised by York and Leeds-based accountancy firm Garbutt + Elliott, recognise the best among the county’s food and drink producers and retailers.
Scooping two awards, for business of the year and Yorkshire brand of the year, was Lottie Shaw’s bakery in Brighouse, West Yorkshire. Other businesses to pick up an accolade included Kirklington-based gourmet sausage brand Heck, which won growth business of the year, and Sheffield’s Bullion Chocolate, which picked up the award for young business of the year. The overall winners were:

- Dyls for the Yorkshire Grit award
- Ged Bell Pies for the Deliciouslyorkshire Taste award
- Lottie Shaw’s for the Garbutt + Elliott Business of the Year award
