A Yorkshire interior designer with a nose for beautiful scents has launched a new range of handmade soy candles.
After discovering that she couldn’t find exactly what she wanted on the shelves, the entrepreneur decided to make it herself.
Carol, who says she initially began making candles for the holiday let business she runs, soon realised she was piquing the interest of friends and family, who loved the unique blends she’d created and wanted to add them into their own living rooms.
“Before long, I knew that I simply had to make the candles to sell.” She says. That’s when Carol Robertson Scents was born. Hand-poured with love in Yorkshire, the soy wax, 100% naturally-fragranced candles were the first products to be added to the range, with room and body sprays following next.
A loyal following is building on social media, with Carol working around the clock to keep up with demand during Christmas 2018 and other key gifting periods. Of course, Carol is inspired hugely by Jo Loves’ founder, Jo Malone, who she was fortunate enough to meet after her daughter treated her to a memorable gift package, which involved Champagne and canapes with the entrepreneur.
“Jo is such an inspiration and she offered lots of advice to help me drive my business forward.” says Carol, whose range features candles in various sizes and fragrances, including rare seven-wick varieties. Customers can also choose from a collection of coloured glass jars to complement their décor and room and linen sprays double up as body sprays – perfect for throwing in your handbag and spritzing on the go.
Votive boxes make perfect gifts, as do the luxury seven-wick candles, and fragrances include luxurious Rose and Oud, ‘Cashmere’ and ‘Acini’ (Fruity Grapefruit and Lemon).
