Yorkshire PR firm celebrates five years in business with duo of new client wins
A Yorkshire-based PR agency is celebrating five years of trading by announcing two new client wins.
Leeds-based MacComms has won contracts to manage the PR and social media management for leading signage specialist Widd Signs and pyrometallurgical firm Inprotec.
MacComms is responsible for managing the public and media relations for both businesses, supporting Widd Signs with the promotions of its traditional and digital signage across its three northern sites. Wakefield-based Inprotec has also joined as a client, with MacComms supporting the promotions of the firm which provides precious metal and other non-ferrous refineries across the globe with a dedicated engineering group.
The news comes at an exciting time for MacComms as it reaches a milestone five years in business.
MacComms, formed in April 2015 by multi-award-winning businesswoman Ellie MacDonald, has helped hundreds of owner-managed firms to raise their profile with local clients including Vet-AI, SimpleUsability and homeless charity Simon on the Streets.
Ellie commented: “The last five years have been the most challenging but also rewarding years of my life. I’m incredibly proud to have built a business from scratch to one which now represents some of the most impressive Yorkshire-based entrepreneurial businesses. The new client wins are a great way to mark five years in business and with so much uncertainty at the moment it’s important to take stock of how far we’ve come and celebrate success.”
Managing director of Widd Signs, Gary Williams added: “Widd Signs has been a successful business for over 100 years, but we weren’t very good at shouting about our success. We saw the great work Ellie and her team had been doing for Sound Leisure and appointed MacComms to help us having recently acquired a second business. We’re delighted with the work produced so far and look forward to a successful future working together.”
MacComms is run by Ellie with Martin Mellor as finance director and a team of experienced freelancers across PR, journalism, copywriting, marketing, event and social media management to support client accounts.
The firm plans to build on current success and grow with additional freelancers added to the MacComms community to continue to support entrepreneurial firms with their own growth plans.
