A Leeds-based flag and banner maker has stepped forward to show its appreciation for the NHS and other keyworkers this week. Northern Flags have launched a new range of products, including flags, banners and stickers; with £5 from each one sold donated to the NHS Charities COVID-19 Urgent Appeal.

The appeal, set up by NHS Charities Together, is raising money to support all of the NHS staff and volunteers currently working under unimaginable conditions to battle the spread of the coronavirus disease. The donations will go towards well-being packs for staff and volunteers working in hospitals, travel and accommodation costs, longer term mental health support for medical worker after the pandemic has ended and more. The appeal has already raised over £18million of a £100million target, in a very short space of time.

The Northern Flags #ThankYouNHS range allows businesses and individuals across the country a chance to show their love and appreciation for all of those putting themselves at risk on the frontline of the fight. Designed in the signature NHS blue, with the message displayed in that recognisable font; the company hopes its own contribution goes some way in helping support the country’s medical workers.

Managing Director of Northern Flags, Iain Clasper-Cotte, said: “These are unprecedented and scary times for us as a country, but one thing that has stood out has been the unwavering and tireless efforts of our NHS medical workers and volunteers. In what must be unbelievably trying times, they have faced the crisis with determination and, more often than not, a smile.

At Northern Flags, we have watched events unfold and, as a company, decided we wanted to do our part. That’s why we designed this range to allow people and businesses to show their support for our incredible NHS and, more importantly, to raise money that will go towards helping them. The £5 we will be donating from each product sold will be a small gesture but hopefully a vital one in the long battle against this deadly disease.”
