Yorkshire entrepreneur Alex Duckett is showcasing the future of homeworking with his new company Mhor. He aims to address many of the challenges professionals face when working from home and help companies meet their obligations on employee-wellbeing and compliance issues.

The company provides a fully-managed service based on a modular home office that is delivered ready to 'plug and play'. Each home office is designed to be acoustically insulated and comes with an opportunity for corporate branding, commercial grade lighting, and high standard ergonomic furniture including sit-stand desks.

Alex was inspired to launch the new company after speaking to companies struggling to meet compliance requirements and experiencing staff with a wave of issues ranging from back pain to stress.

Commenting on the launch Alex said: "Most companies and employees have done their best through very difficult lockdowns, but as flexible working models become the norm it's clear that a more appropriate solution is required.

"We have analysed the significant difficulties with working from home for both the employer and employee, such as employee well-being, data protection (particularly relevant for regulated businesses), governance and the physical environment. Our Mhor modular offices are intended to be offered as employee benefit and can be installed within 3 hours."

Alex brings a wealth of experience from the commercial property industry and also runs a leading serviced office company. Mhor’s Chairman is Andrew Cope who was a founder of Zenith, one of the largest independent vehicle leasing companies in the UK and is a successful investor. Other stakeholders in the business include a national facilities management company and a modular build specialist with over 30 years experience of in complex lift and installs.

Mhor hopes to capitalise on the boom in flexible working by enabling companies to let their staff work from home in a responsible manner. The ONS estimate 46% of people in employment did some homeworking last year, and while 86% of those did so because of the pandemic, it is clear that models of working have changed forever.

Mhor home offices are delivered to the employees garden complete with high specification office furniture and dedicated commercial grade internet connectivity. The home offices can be secured when not in use and provide a professional working environment.

The modular home offices can be purchased on contract hire from £299 a month and only take three hours to install.
