Dozens of Yorkshire’s business leaders and professionals are preparing to swap the office for the catwalk – and raise thousands for good causes in the process.
For the first time in the FB Fashion Ball’s 21-year history, the event’s models are being invited to raise sponsorship for a charity of their choice. Around 70 people from some of the region’s top businesses will be modelling outfits from a range of high street brands, boutiques and independent fashion designers in the annual inspirational and unique catwalk show.
Organiser Lisa Darwin explains: “The FB Fashion Ball has been an annual highlight in the corporate calendar for many years, and this year we wanted its impact to be felt even further. By asking our fabulous models to get sponsored for stepping out of their comfort zone and onto the catwalk, we hope to be able to support more charities than ever before.
“The glitzy black-tie event will be tons of fun and a fantastic networking opportunity for the hundreds of guests attending but the new sponsorship element will also allow us to give something back. Our chosen charity for the overall event this year is the wonderful Simon on the Streets; the models’ sponsorship means we could have dozens of additional charities also benefitting.”
Reward Finance Group, the Leeds and Manchester-based alternative finance provider, is sponsoring the event. Reward Finance Group’s joint managing director Dave Jones said: “I have been involved in the event for the past 13 years and now enjoy being a key sponsor, as well as strutting my stuff for charity in the Business Leaders scene.
“The event is a great platform to showcase your business and make new contacts, a fun evening to entertain our clients and staff. It’s a long established unique event offering something different with celebrations, creativity and fun. It’s well organised and effectively promoted, so personally and professionally we get a lot of profile and benefit from being involved. See you there!”
Joanna Robinson, managing director for air conditioning and ventilation specialist Mansfield Pollard is also taking part. Joanna added: “I’m delighted to be taking part in this year’s FB Fashion Ball. The event is a fun-filled night of fashion and dance, and provides a great opportunity to network with business people from the region. This year I will be supporting Prostate Cancer UK, and I can’t wait to strut down the catwalk to raise some money for such a worthy charity.”
The FB Fashion Ball will be held at the Royal Armouries in Leeds on 17th May. As well as the catwalk show, the evening will also feature the FB Business & Lifestyle Awards which celebrate the region’s businesses, individuals and brands. Voting is now open visit www.FBFashionBall.show.
Businesses taking part in this year’s event include Reward Finance Group, Irwin Mitchell, Deloitte, Ernst and Young, Barclays, Sanderson Weatherall and Addleshaw Goddard.
