Yorkshire Brickwork Contractors is delighted to announce its official sponsorship with Almondbury Spartans ARLFC, in order to support their ambitions as a new, local Huddersfield based rugby club, with the goal of facilitating essential opportunities and support for the young rugby players.
Almondbury Spartans ARLFC was established in August 2019 and prides itself in sharing positivity and looking after each other as a family. The already full team has multiple wins under its belt including becoming the Holliday Challenge Cup Winners in 2019.
Michael Wynn, managing director and founder of Yorkshire Brickwork Contractors, moved to Huddersfield from Harrogate due to the diversity and welcoming vibes of the town. Michael saw the sponsorship as an opportunity to support a local Huddersfield team and give back to the community that welcomed him with open arms. Sponsoring the Spartans means the team will have extra funding to facilitate a professional club kit and transport, which is essential for away days. Michael is keen to stay active with the club and has recently rewarded hard-working Spartan players, Winston Dayes and Courtney Milner, who joined Michael in his executive box at one of Huddersfield’s Giants Rugby matches.
Michael said: “Since moving to Huddersfield and setting up my business, I have met so many amazing people and received much support and guidance whilst networking with the professionals of the town. I feel it is only right to give back to the community and what's better is that I can do this by helping young people do what they enjoy the most. Since moving to Huddersfield I have got more involved with rugby, so sponsoring the Almondbury Spartans ARLFC just seemed like the perfect opportunity”.
George Clough, marketing & PR manager at Almondbury Spartans ARLFC, said: “Michael’s involvement was instrumental for us starting up. We are grateful for his involvement with the club as a sponsor and for engaging fully with what we are doing.”
