YLF’s team continues to grow
Yorkshire's premier sheet metal fabrication and laser cutting firm has welcomed two new members of staff to its team.
Normanton-based Yorkshire Laser & Fabrication Ltd has appointed James Bradley as shopfloor manager while Abbie Priestley joins its administration team.
James has come to YLF with a strong engineering background having previously worked as a shift manager for a Bradford company manufacturing pipework for the oil and gas industry. His new role sees him responsible for daily operations on the factory floor ensuring everything goes to plan safely, on time and to the expected high quality.
Specialists in sheet metal laser cutting and fabrication, YLF manufacture a wide variety of bespoke metal components and products such as brackets, enclosures, boxes and pipes for sectors ranging from the power and communications industries to automotive and food manufacture. It is the variety of the work passing through the factory that James particularly enjoys.
“There is a lot of variation – no job is ever the same so every day is different and I love it,” he said. “The people here, on shift and in the office, are great and there’s a good atmosphere. I’m really enjoying it.”
Abbie Priestley also has a background in the metal industry including eight years’ experience in sales plus administration roles within metal manufacturing and metal work finishing companies.
“My role is different from what I was doing before and I’m enjoying getting to know YLF’s customers while also keeping the admin side in line to ensure orders are processed as required,” she said.
“Having a working knowledge of the metal industry is certainly helpful. Throughout my career I have read technical drawings and information which is useful now for understanding orders and putting job cards together.”
YLF’s MD Matt Orford welcomed James and Abbie to the company. “YLF continues to thrive offering exceptional service, quality and value to our many and varied customers. Abbie and James are a welcome addition to our team and I’m sure their skills and experience will contribute to the future development of the business,” he said.
