Building Regulation consultancy, YDBC Ltd, is preparing for a new phase of expansion with the opening of an office in Leeds.

The company has recruited three staff in 2020 to form a new head office in Horsforth: office manager Karen Waite-Pullan, senior surveyor John Norfolk and surveyor Seb Jackson. With another office in Leyburn, YDBC now has regional coverage spanning the whole of Yorkshire and the North East. Both offices have a team of surveyors providing Building Control duties for domestic and commercial construction.

Katherine Naisbitt, director at YDBC, said: “The Leeds office is an important step in YDBC’s growth strategy, providing support on a local and regional basis. Karen, John and Seb will play a vital role in strengthening YDBC’s presence and service capacity in the Leeds City Region and other areas of Yorkshire, helping to accelerate the development of our business. YDBC experienced an increase in business during the lockdown, with a surge in demand from domestic customers seeking to invest in upgrades and improvements to their properties. We took on new staff to manage the additional demand, including members of our Leeds team.

“As a Corporate Approved Inspector, YDBC has the credentials to carry out Building Control duties across a full range of domestic and commercial construction projects. The Leeds operation offers the expertise, experience and responsiveness to ensure that our high standards are maintained on behalf of new and existing clients. After navigating what has been an enormously challenging period for businesses and communities throughout the UK, we are now in a strong position to push on in the years ahead.”

YDBC surveyors work on new build and refurbishment developments of all sizes. YDBC was acquired by C80 Group in 2019 and now operates as a sister company with C80 Group’s other building consultancy, C80 Solutions.
