Avant Homes North East has started construction on a 10-acre site in Catterick, Richmondshire to deliver 135 new-build homes with a gross development value (GDV) of around £28m.
Located just four miles from Richmond town centre the development will comprise a mix of two, three and four-bedroom homes and feature 11 of Avant Homes’ house types.
Called Brompton Mews, the development received planning permission in August last year. The overall build programme is estimated to take approximately three years.
Of the 135 homes being built, 30 per cent are affordable housing with eight dwellings to be affordable rented and 32 dwellings to be discount market sale.
The builder has also committed to a community contribution of more than £380,000 towards local education and recreation facilities. The showhome is due to open this summer with the first homes set to be ready for occupation in June.
North East managing director, Don Anderson, said: “Brompton Mews is an exciting opportunity to extend our presence in the Richmondshire area, and we’re pleased to have commenced work to deliver 135 new homes for Catterick.
“We know there is demand for high-quality new-build homes in the local area, so we look forward to progressing with the development in the coming months.”
