My name is Kelly Thistlethwaite. I am the owner and director of Yorkshire Yogi – a Huddersfield based Yoga and Wellbeing company inspiring you to nourish your mental and physical wellbeing through Lifestyle Coaching, Yoga, Pilates and body work. I recently ran the Huddersfield Yoga and Wellbeing Festival: The first of its kind and scale and hosted over 80 workshops, 60 stalls, music, food and holistic.
I have written this column which hopefully will inspire you to look after your wellbeing.
I want to inspire you to look after yourselves by setting you little challenges it’s so easy to put your own wellbeing to the bottom of your ‘to do’ list until it’s too late and you are burnt out, put on those extra pounds, and lost the fitness level you worked hard to gain or are so stressed out and overworked that you are anxious, irritable and not sleeping well which brings a whole host of other problems.
So, in this column, my challenge will help you start your day as you mean to go on…looking after yourself:
Challenge: Keep a journal/note book and pen by your bed and each day, before getting out of bed, write down 3 things that you are going to do for yourself that day. They don’t have to be big things just 3 things that will make you feel good, happy, content, smile or laugh. And at the end of your day look back over them and see if you did them. Ask yourself if they felt good? What difference they made to your day.
