Wakefield BID makes free App available
An innovative new App to help local businesses attract more customers is now available to all companies in Wakefield thanks to the support of the local Council and Wakefield Business Improvement District (“BID”).
The App, called ‘Roam Local’, will allow Wakefield businesses to make themselves more widely known on a nation-wide directory so they can attract both visitors and local customers with their own customised offers.
Andrew Bartlett, founder and managing director, explains: “I developed this App to help support our local businesses to bounce back from lockdown, which has already proven a success by businesses which have started using it.
Christine Armstrong, BID manager, said, “We are really pleased to be introducing the Roam Local App to our city and are encouraging both businesses and our wider community to get involved, to see the best of what Wakefield has to offer. Roam puts a spotlight on it all!”
Andrew added: “Our App is not only designed to attract new customers, but to build loyalty and repeat business, providing a dramatic increase of profits.
“A good example is Babul’s, an Indian restaurant in Barnard Castle, who signed up over 300 followers and boosted footfall by 30% in less than four weeks – and all that was achieved just by using the tools available on the free version of the App!”
