Victoria Leeds brings old fashioned romance to the city of Leeds

Iconic arcades play host to exclusive 1940’s style Tea Dance in a bid to bring back the ‘good old days’

Victoria Leeds will set pulses racing this Valentine’s Day, as it introduces an exclusive Tea Dance this Thursday (14 February). In a nod to years gone by when sweethearts would swing their partner left, rather than swipe right, the shopping centre will transport guests to the 1940s with an afternoon of old-fashioned romance in the middle of the busy arcades.

Combining dance and romance, first time movers can join seasoned tea dancers at Victoria Quarter taking their place on the dance floor and getting tips on how to meet their very own Fred or Ginger.

Local band After Hours Quintet will provide the perfect soundtrack, filling the arcades with a selection of nostalgic favourites and dancers from Swing Dance Leeds will show shoppers how it’s done with captivating mini performances to entertain crowds and encourage shoppers, young and old, to try their hand at a little Lindy Hop, Jive or Quickstep

Jo Coburn, general manager at Victoria Leeds said: “Love is in the air and we’re thrilled to be stepping back in time this Valentine’s Day and warming the hearts of our shoppers with a good, old-fashioned dance. We’d like to invite the people of Leeds to add a spring to their step and join us for what’s sure to be an unforgettable afternoon of family fun, great music and old school romance.“

The Victoria Leeds Valentine’s Day Dance will take place in Victoria Quarter from 12pm – 3pm
