The Broadway, Bradford makes donation to local food bank
The Broadway, Bradford has made a donation to the value of £750 to Inn Churches food bank, a charity organisation providing practical support to those who need it most across Bradford.
The generous donation, which will be distributed between the charities’ two locations in Bradford, The Storehouse and twenty two Shaw House, will provide a much needed boost to Inn Churches’ food bank in the run up to the festive season.
Ian Ward, general manager of The Broadway, Bradford said: “Christmas is a time of giving and we are delighted to be able to offer support to such a great charity. At The Broadway we pride ourselves on being heavily involved in the local community and we wanted to support a service that is close to our hearts.
“Having used the Centre as a base for the temporary food hub during the height of the pandemic, myself and the team at The Broadway sought to find a way to continue to make this vital service possible as we approach Christmas.”
Inn Churches is part of the steering group for Feeding Bradford and Keighley, which works across Bradford and Keighley to try and coordinate food provision and ensure that everybody who needs food is able to access it, whatever their circumstances.
Gary Peacock, Centre Manager at Inn Churches said: “We’re extremely grateful for such a generous donation from the team at The Broadway. The items will go a long way to supporting the local community at such a demanding time of year.”
Inn Churches, which works to tackle poverty in the region, supports more than 100 community groups by providing emergency food supplies to vulnerable people in Bradford, including those sheltering, the elderly and other vulnerable people.
