SPG Resourcing has appointed Richard Howarth as an associate director to launch the company’s cybersecurity practice.
Mr Howarth brings over 20 years of experience in IT recruitment, with the last eight years focused on IT Security.
Commenting on his new role, Richard Howarth, associate director at SPG Resourcing, said: “I’m joining a fast-growing and ambitious team that has seen revenues double in the last 12 months. I look forward to working with clients to enhance their cybersecurity resources as we launch a specialism in the UK and North America.”
Demand for cybersecurity professionals is expected to rise. According to the UK National Cyber Security Centre, AI will increase the volume and effect of cyberattacks over the next two years. AI will enable dishonest people to analyse data more quickly and to train AI models for malicious intent. Artificial intelligence has the potential to aid in the creation of malware that can avoid detection by existing security measures.
SPG Resourcing helps companies and organisations across the digital sector find the talent they need. It operates internationally from offices in Leeds and Newcastle.
The recruitment firm has seen revenue leap from £3.3m to £6m over the last 12 months. SPG Resourcing’s team grew from 11 to 16, and it launched a US division as part of its growth plans.
