Studio LWD bucks pandemic trend and invests in first office space
Multi-service creative agency StudioLWD has invested in its first office space as it looks to recruit two additional creatives in the coming months.
The Poulton-Le-Fylde based firm has signed a 3-year lease with Mellor Holdings for a loft style suite within a period converted, city centre building, The Whitehouse.
The 1000 sq ft of office space will allow for the firm to continue expanding its team, supporting the year-on-year growth witnessed since founding in 2012.
Creative director and founder Laura Weldon believes that despite the trend others are following to operate remotely, there’s a demand from creatives for physical office space.
“The last year has forced most teams to work remotely, and whilst flexibility was a benefit, many of us experienced isolation, loneliness and found it difficult to separate work and home life,” she said.
“Having spoken to the team about the idea of an office, I knew they were as keen as I was to find a new HQ. We all decided it was important to have one space where we could bounce around ideas, support each other and share creative work easily.
“With us continuing to be a growing business, I also felt it was important to have the team together in a creative space to enable growth and development,” she added.
StudioLWD is an agency which captures the essence of a business ethos and creates a visionary journey which guarantees high engagement and recall.
Founded in 2012, the firm is made up of a group of strategic thinkers and creatives who create engaging work, grounded in solid strategy.
With over 15 years’ experience working with some of the world’s most iconic brands, such as Virgin, Nike, Tesco, Aldi and British Council, the team are experts in their field.
Whilst the firm was initially affected by the pandemic in May 2020, Q3 and 4 saw the firm welcome 8 new clients to its portfolio.
The success continued into 2021 with a trio of client wins and the appointment of junior designer, Rebecca Drabble.
Laura said the lease of the office space represents the commitment and hard work demonstrated by the entire team over the last year.
“The team has worked extremely hard over the last few years, and even more so throughout the pandemic when we were all dealing with sudden changes to our lives.
“One thing that never faded was how important it is for us to build a strong culture and so when we were searching for an office, we knew it had to be an extension of that. We wanted somewhere that people we would all be happy to work in. The Whitehouse is the perfect space.”
