Leeds-based SPG Intelligence has launched to support UK businesses in adopting artificial intelligence technologies. A subsidiary of Solution Performance Group, the firm focuses on three key areas: cloud intelligence, cyber intelligence, and applied intelligence.

The move follows a strategic reorganisation of teams across the business to scale AI delivery for both public and private sector clients.

The UK government’s AI Opportunities Action Plan projects that AI adoption could contribute an additional £400 billion to the UK economy by 2030, thanks to innovation, productivity, and efficiency gains, particularly across the private sector.

Some estimates go even further. Research commissioned by Microsoft suggests that AI could add £550 billion to the UK's GDP by 2035, with AI-driven technologies predicted to increase the country’s GDP by up to 10% by 2030.

Gareth Humphreys, Group CEO at SPG Intelligence, said, “Our clients aren’t asking if they should use AI; they’re asking how fast they can make it happen. The launch is about responding to that urgency. We’ve redeployed talent, refined our focus, and are ready to scale.

“We set up the Group six years ago to help companies tackle technological challenges. We’ve seen the number of AI and machine learning projects we undertake grow in volume and complexity. Now is the right time to grow our capacity in this area and enable us to help more companies.”

SPG Intelligence is targeting businesses looking to modernise cloud infrastructure, enhance digital security and embed AI tools such as agents and automation into everyday operations. The need for advanced cyber intelligence is growing rapidly, especially as threats become more sophisticated.

The UK’s National Cyber Security Centre has warned that AI could increase the volume and impact of cyberattacks in the next two years. Meanwhile, SPG Resourcing, the group's recruitment arm, is seeing a sharp rise in demand for roles related to AI implementation and cybersecurity. A recent whitepaper from the company highlights the scale of the challenge, with UK businesses losing an estimated £21 billion each year to cybercrime.

According to GlobalData, the global AI market will top $1 trillion by 2030. For SPG Intelligence, the opportunity lies not just in technology but also in helping organisations navigate the complexity of AI adoption.

SPG Intelligence’s launch aligns with the UK's strategic direction in the AI economy. The Government plans to increase public compute capacity 20-fold, create AI Growth Zones to host new data centres, and directly support startups and scale-ups through a new UK Sovereign AI research initiative. The UK already ranks third globally for private AI investment, with more than £20 billion raised since 2016, but much of the next growth stage will hinge on getting real solutions into the hands of businesses.
