Shipley Town Council appoints new town centre co-ordinator
Shipley Town Council is delighted to announce the appointment of Ian McIver as the town’s new Town Centre Co-ordinator, reinforcing its commitment to supporting a thriving, welcoming and vibrant town centre.
Ian joins the Town Council team with a dedicated focus and responsibility for the Shipley town centre area. In his new role, he will lead initiatives aimed at promoting the local economy, enhancing vibrancy and improving the usability of the town centre for businesses, residents and visitors alike.
Speaking about his appointment, Ian said: “I’m really pleased to be stepping into this role with a clear focus on our town centre. It’s about supporting local businesses, bringing people together, and celebrating the talent and creativity that make Shipley special.”
Chair of Shipley Town Council, Councillor Rhona North added: “Ian’s appointment is fantastic news for Shipley. He brings enthusiasm, practical experience and a genuine love for the town. We’re confident he will work closely with businesses, residents and partners to help our town centre thrive.”
Ian has already demonstrated his hands-on approach. On his very first day in the role, he was out in the market square helping to spread grit during icy conditions. There are also some key events taking place over the next few weeks including: A special Spring Market in the Market Square on Saturday 14 March, showcasing local traders, and the Shipley Means Business Networking event taking place on Thursday 5th March, at the Caroline St. Social Club 6pm-8pm.
