Seasonal markets, festive Carols and elves behavin' badly

Leeds’ premier out of town shopping and leisure destination, The Springs is set to dazzle this Christmas with a line-up of festive treats for all the family.

Kicking off the festivities, Yorkshire Urban Markets returns with a special festive edition on Saturday 30th November and Sunday 1st December from 10am until 3pm. Following the huge success of the Summer Leeds Local Market, over 40 independent traders will return each day to showcase their wares including exquisite jewellery, arts and crafts, beauty products, plants and flowers, baked goods, confectionary, street food and more! There is sure to be plenty of unique gift ideas to tick off the Christmas shopping list.

No Christmas celebration would be complete without carols. On Sunday 1st December at 11am, talented performers from Stagecoach Garforth and Selby Performing Arts will be setting the festive mood with enchanting carol singing services alongside the markets.

On Sunday 8th December from 11am to 2pm, Arriva’s Festive Bus will be parked next to ODEON offering children a chance to take the driver’s seat while enjoying Christmas-themed arts and crafts workshops. A guest appearance from Santa himself will spread some seasonal sparkle with plenty of free goodies and excitement.

On Saturday 14th December from 11am to 3:00pm, two cheeky elves will bring mischief and merriment to The Springs! Expect playful pranks and laugh out loud moments as Elfie and Elvie appear at regular intervals opposite the ODEON throughout the day. Families are invited to join in the fun and snap photos with the cheeky duo.

Alongside the fun and celebration, The Springs is encouraging donations to two very important local community charities this year. A dedicated Donation Station will be operating between 1th November and 8th December, collecting Christmas gifts on behalf of Leeds Children’s Charity at Lineham Farm to bring festive joy to some of the city’s most disadvantaged children. Donations are also being taken for St. George’s Crypt to support homeless and vulnerable adults during Christmas time. Recommended items for each charity can be found on The Springs website.
