Reward teams across the UK raise £32,000 for PAPYRUS Prevention of Young Suicide

A year-long fundraising programme across Reward Finance Group’s offices has raised an impressive £32,000 for its chosen charity PAPYRUS, which is dedicated to the prevention of suicide and the promotion of positive mental health and emotional wellbeing in young people.

The Reward team embarked on a range of challenges and events to raise these vital funds, from completing the gruelling Yorkshire Three Peaks, a daring 11,000ft skydive, a 220 mile bike ride undertaken in one day, alongside events including a charity darts tournament and charity quiz supported by over 200 of Reward’s business contacts.

The money raised will provide much needed funds to help PAPYRUS reduce the number of young people who take their own lives, by shattering the stigma surrounding suicide and equipping people and their communities with the skills to recognise and respond to emotional distress.

Speaking about the donation, Amanda Scott-Barbera, corporate fundraiser for PAPYRUS, commented; “The incredible commitment, energy and fundraising support we have received from Reward has been truly remarkable.”

“We are so thankful that Reward chose to partner with us this year and it’s been inspiring to see the array of fundraising activities they have undertaken to surpass their ambitious target. The money raised ensures that we can continue to offer vital support to young people across the UK. Our thanks go to the amazing Reward team. We have all really enjoyed working with you.”

Nick Smith, Reward’s group managing director, added; “The work PAPYRUS does is invaluable to our society and vitally important, especially in today’s climate. In conjunction with the launch of our Wellness Team and our heightened focus on mental health within our teams, it was an obvious choice to partner with a charity that provides incredible support to those most in need.”

“Working closely with PAPYRUS and seeing their efforts to prevent young suicide in the UK, as well as to break the stigma linked to suicide, has enriched our understanding and commitment to the cause. The team here at Reward worked tirelessly to raise as much as possible and the final figure of £32,000 exceeded our ambitious target. Well done to everyone involved and we all wish the charity ongoing success in helping vulnerable young people.”
