A Yorkshire based fitted furniture manufacturer that launched a recycled kitchen collection using cabinet doors made from 100% recycled materials has won gold at the 2020 Designer Awards.

Daval, based in Slaithwaite, saw its Renzo collection named winner of the ‘Innovation in Kitchen Design’ category at a virtual awards ceremony to celebrate the work of outstanding designers, residential and commercial projects as well as leading manufacturers for innovation in product design.

Simon Bodsworth, managing director at Daval, said: “We are delighted to be recognised by our peers for Renzo. Launching the collection in March demonstrated our confidence in the growing eco-friendly luxury market and winning a gold award affirms the huge potential we now have for increasing sustainability throughout the industry, as every door in the Renzo range is made from 100% recycled material and is FSC Certified.”

He continued: “The ongoing shift to a more sustainable way of living means we are all increasingly aware of the environmental impact of the products we have in our homes.

“Our passion and commitment as a business towards the circular economy pushes us to innovate with regards to our sourcing and manufacturing methods as well as our product development. The Renzo range demonstrates this, and provides our customers with an option that helps give future generations a better quality of life."

Daval, founded in 1978, designs and manufactures in-house from its 100,000 square foot factory and design showroom in Slaithwaite, outside Huddersfield.
