Commercial property developer Priority Space is still achieving sales of industrial and warehousing units at Doncaster Sheffield Airport, despite the lockdown’s effects on businesses.

Sheffield-based Priority Space is behind the £5m speculative Avro Park development, in partnership with H.G. Sites, which will comprise 45,000 sq. ft of high-quality industrial space for businesses in the region.

Phase one of the scheme comprises 12 modern warehouse units ranging from 1,250 ft to 2,250 sq. ft. Six units at the site have now been sold, including two of those during the lockdown period and two further units are now under offer.

Work is due to start on phase two of the scheme later this year. It will comprise two further units measuring 10,000 sq. ft and 15,000 sq. ft. The units are being marketed by agents Barnsdales and Commercial Property Partners.

Lee Buchanan, co-director at Priority Space, said: “During these difficult times, it is reassuring to see that businesses are still investing in high-specification industrial space which will help them get back on their feet when the lockdown is lifted. It’s this investment that will help get the economy moving again in the months ahead.”

Business owner and entrepreneur Jason Adlam, who lives just two miles from the airport at Bessacarr, will bring his business ventures together at Avro Park when Government Covid-19 restrictions are lifted.

Jason said: “Before Covid-19, I was looking for an investment opportunity locally to home and when I heard about Avro Park, I knew it was going to be a hub for businesses in Doncaster. The location of the unit next to the airport attracted me in terms of the expansion plans and investment opportunities.

“I’m using the time we have now during lockdown to reset and put plans in place for the future. I’m very much looking forward to moving in as soon as we are able to.”

Avro Park is part of Doncaster Sheffield Airport’s business district next to the existing Skypark scheme. The site is approximately six miles south of Doncaster town centre and close to the M1 and M18.
