A pioneering occupational physiotherapy service developed in Yorkshire, that has improved the return-to-work recovery times for 96% of businesses accessing it across the UK, has received a major industry accolade within the occupational health sector.
The Back in Action UK service, delivered by Leeds-based Sano Physiotherapy, has been awarded the highly coveted SEQOHS (Safe, Effective, Quality Occupational Health Service) accreditation endorsed by the Faculty of Occupational Medicine.
Sano Physiotherapy is a leading national provider of musculoskeletal (MSK) physiotherapy services and operates 40 clinics across Yorkshire, the Midlands and the North East, with Back in Action UK the only independent physiotherapy service to hold the SEQOHS certification delivering services nationwide.
In addition to drastically improving employee return-to-work recovery times for businesses across the UK, 98% of firms reported the support services made it easier for their employers to transition back to work or stay in work.
Central to receiving the award is also its expertise in delivering specialist on and off-site occupational physiotherapy, ergonomic assessments, injury prevention training and wellness programmes designed to enhance employee engagement, wellbeing and productivity. Leeds City Council has relied on Back in Action UK to treat employees absent with musculoskeletal disorders and help fast-track their return to work – saving over £270,000 in potential lost productivity and absence costs.
In addition to the SEQOHS accreditation, Back in Action UK also holds the ISO 9001 certification as part of Sano Physiotherapy, with the dual recognition emphasising Sano’s commitment to quality, safety, and excellence in all aspects of its service delivery.
Matthew Taylor, managing director of Sano Physiotherapy, said: “We are incredibly proud to have received SEQOHS accreditation. This recognition, along with our ISO 9001 certification, is testament to the hard work and dedication of our team of professionals. It highlights our commitment to providing the highest level of care to our clients and reinforces our position as a leader in the occupational health sector.
“We look forward to continuing to support the health and wellbeing of workplaces across the UK in a bid to boost business productivity and sustained economic growth.”
Alex Bell, head of customer success at Sano Physiotherapy, added. “SEQOHS recognition is a significant milestone for us as a business and highlights our commitment to driving innovation and continually enhancing our services to meet the evolving needs of businesses across a wealth of sectors.”
