The flourishing Leeds Private Hospital, situated in the beautiful 17th Century Red Hall House estate close to Roundhay, has signed a prestigious sponsorship deal with Sheffield-based GBM Sports Promotion.
Founded by Consultant Facial Plastic Surgeon Dr Fas Arshad, the hospital is now the leading private hospital in Yorkshire. Dr Arshad bought the historic estate, by the East Leeds Orbital Route (ELOR) from the Rugby Football League in 2021.
Dr Arshad explained: “Since we officially opened in 2022, we have gone from strength to strength. We have doubled our staff and we are employing local NHS consultant surgeons and consultant anaesthetists to come and work with us to provide high standard surgical services. Our ultimate aim is to be able to process higher volumes of work to ease the heavy burden on the over-run NHS in the Yorkshire region.
“Now we are fully established, it is time we became more heavily involved in Yorkshire’s sporting scene. As a result, we have embarked on an exciting sponsorship deal with GBM Sports, the leading boxing promotion and management company in the north of England. Our ethos, our objectives and our brands align perfectly and I believe we have a very bright future together.
“Izzy Asif, the founder and managing director of GBM Sports, was an accomplished boxer and is now a successful promotor and entrepreneur. His experience in his chosen field is stellar and had led to a ground-breaking multi-fight broadcasting deal with DAZN, the leading British sports streaming company. DAZN is now streaming GBM’s fights across the globe.
“This is a very significant milestone for Izzy and GBM. We are planning to sponsor all the 10 fight nights to be broadcast by DAZN next year, in a deal worth over £50,000. Our branding and our representatives will be present at every fight night streamed live on DAZN.
“Meanwhile our partnership with GBM Sports will help to launch our sports medicine and injury department at our hospital. Whether a sports elite professional or an amateur, if you are injured through sport, the Leeds Private Hospital Sports Medicine and Injury Clinic will provide you with the specialised care and treatment to help get you back to the sport you love, pain-free and quickly.

GBM Sports, whose array of boxing talent includes Hughie Fury, Tyson Fury’s cousin, has also been boosted this summer by the appointment of Adam Smith, the former Sky Sports boxing presenter and commentator, as the company’s Director of Broadcasting.
