Pelsis Group acquires French company to drive continued growth
Knaresborough-headquartered global pest control technology leader Pelsis Group has acquired France’s top pest control supplier as part of its ongoing international growth strategy.
Edialux France has become a wholly owned subsidiary of the company with all its employees, customers and suppliers transferring to Pelsis Group.
Based in Mâcon, near Lyon, Edialux France has a turnover of €16m and employs 36 people. All values relating to the transaction are undisclosed.
The deal increases Pelsis Group’s turnover to around £150m with the business now employing more than 500 people across 15 sites located throughout the UK, Europe, China and the USA.
It represents the latest move in Pelsis Group’s successful international growth strategy which has seen the company add to its range of internationally renowned pest control brands, most recently with the 2018 acquisition of US-based Curtis & Gilmour.
Commenting on the acquisition, Pelsis Group chief executive, Andrew Milner, said: “We have enjoyed a good business relationship with Edialux France over a number of years. Both companies share similar business goals, values and aspirations for the future.
“Due to the ongoing growth opportunities and the clear benefits of working together, we have decided now is the right time to fully align our businesses, enabling us to provide our customers with enhanced levels of product innovation, service and support.
“This acquisition creates an organisation even better able to help our customers grow market share and to benefit from long-term profitable partnerships.”
Established in the mid-1980s, Pelsis Group owns a portfolio of 10 professional and consumer brands and has more than 20,000 customers worldwide including Rentokil, Ecolab, Screwfix and Amazon.
Edialux France managing director, Serge Simon, who will continue to lead the company following the acquisition, added: “Pelsis Group is a business with a clear growth strategy that shares our ambitions for further expanding the Edialux brand throughout Europe and the Nordics.
“We are excited by the opportunities that our new relationship is already creating for our people, customers and suppliers and look forward to fully realising Edialux’s potential as we progress.”
